One for the big guys!

I've wanted a tadpole trike for years! My age, combined with a few health issues, have made it so I can no longer comfortably, or safely, ride upright bikes. I'm also on the large size, so I needed a trike that both fits me and could support my weight safely. The Magnum XL was one of the few that could accomplish these goals.

LaidBack Cycles was able to install a really sweet electric assist system for me! It has given me the ability to safely ride farther and longer than I'd anticipated being able to do. Being out riding on the Magnum feels great and helps me enjoy exercising in a way I've missed out on for a long time. I always come home from a ride in a better mood and even looking forward to the the next time I get to ride.

The guys at LaidBack Cycles did a fantastic job preparing my Magnum XL for me. When I went to pick it up, they took time to go over the features and took me on a test ride around a park near their shop with a nice variety of paths and trails to try the trike on. They spent time making sure the fit was right and all the last minute adjustments worked for me.

I have a bit of advice for prospective trike buyers.

If you don't live near their shop, make sure you get some basic bike tools to take home with you. You'll probably need to tighten spokes, and bolts that come loose in the first few weeks of riding. I had to work out some noises caused by loose spokes in the rear wheel and I'm glad the spoke wrench to do that was an easy inexpensive fix. Get the double sided bar bag mounts, you'll be glad you did. Trike tires pick up even the tiniest trickle of water from the road and spray it all over you if you're going even just a few miles per hour. Do your best to try and get fenders installed! It may be expensive, but get electric assist! It isn't cheating since it will help you enjoy longer rides than you would otherwise be able to do. It can also help you get out of situations that might strand you otherwise. Above all, enjoy your new trike!

I am a large man (400 Lbs) with bad knees and bad back.

The Greenspeed Magnum XL really stood out for me as the trike to buy. What attracted me to the Magnum was a number of things first being the weight limit. The Magnum has the highest weight limit on the market for a recumbent trike. There are some other trike that are built for larger people but just not equal to the Magnum.
