Is your Maverick seat creaking?

I noticed the seat on my Maverick creaking quite a bit. I located an 8 mm Allen bolt on the left side under the seat and it was quite loose! In fact, it was only a thread or two from falling out. I gave it a good tightening only to have it loosen a couple weeks later. Seems like it ought to have lock tight on it from the factory. I just checked every month or so and tighten asnecessary.

Im riding a bicycle again

I am 69 years old and havent ridden a bicycle since 2003 when I blew a disc in my neck. The surgery was successful, but I was too scared to put any pressure on my hands like riding a conventional bicycle does. So I stopped riding bicycles completely.

I saw someone riding a trike a few months ago and wondered “Could I ride one of those?”

To make a long story short, the answer is YES! I recently participated in the five boro bicycle tour of New York City, something I hadn’t done in 22 years! There are some steep approaches to the Queensboro Bridge and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge but I cranked up them all in first year.

In addition, I have advanced Parkinson’s. No way I have the balance to ride a two wheel bicycle or the ability to throw my leg over the saddle of one.

My neurologist believes riding a bicycledelays the onset of Parkinson’s. So I put 1000 miles since then.

I’m extremely impressed with the quality of this bicycle. It is absolutely quiet in operation and nothing has gone wrong. Highly recommended exclamation point.
