The MAX eCAT takes everything that makes the MAX the most accommodating trike in the Catrike line and adds a Bosch electric-assist drive. The higher, wider seat, the larger diameter cross-member and the heavy-duty rims carry up to 425 lb of rider and gear. The Catrike Assist Bars give you something solid to push against getting in and out.

The Bosch Active Line Plus motor is mated to a 1x11 SRAM drivetrain (11-42 cassette, 44 tooth chainring). It delivers 50 Nm of torque and up to 270% assistance, coming on smoothly as soon as you press the pedals rather than surging. The 400 Wh battery is good for up to 62 miles, and the Purion display stays readable in direct sun. The whole trike is UL2849 certified.

Who the MAX eCAT is for

This one's for the rider who needs room to sit and a little help getting up the hill. The MAX eCAT carries up to 425 lbs of rider and gear, and the seat sits higher and wider than most trikes, so you're not folding yourself into it or fighting to stand back up. The Bosch motor takes the climbs and the headwind off your knees, which means the ride ends when you decide it does, not when your legs do. If a standard trike ever felt too small or like too much work, this is the one to look at.

Bosch Active Line Plus Motor

The 250-watt Bosch mid-drive reads how hard you're pedaling and puts up to 50 Nm of torque behind it, with four modes from Eco to Turbo and assist all the way to 20 mph. The hill doesn't go away. It just stops being the reason you turn around.

Built to carry 425 lbs

A larger cross-member, sturdy wide rims, and a seat that sits higher and wider than the rest of the Catrike lineup let the MAX eCAT carry up to 425 lbs of rider and gear. If every trike you've sat in so far felt tight, this is the one with room built into it.

Assist Bars on both sides

Adjustable Catrike Assist Bars give you a solid handhold left and right, so sitting down and standing back up is a hand on the bar instead of a balancing act.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bosch rates the 400 Wh battery at up to 62 miles. Where you land inside that number depends on the mode you ride in and the ground you cover. Eco on flat pavement gets you a long day. Turbo up a grade eats it faster. Either way you're plugging in at home, not hunting for a charger on the trail.
No throttle. It's a Class 1 pedal assist system, so the motor only works while you're pedaling. You pick the mode on the Purion display, Eco through Turbo, and the motor matches what your legs are doing up to 20 mph and a 105 cadence. Peak torque is 50 Nm, and the whole system is UL2849 certified.
Same frame, same 425 lb capacity, same wide seat and assist bars. The eCAT adds the Bosch motor, a 400 Wh battery, the Purion display, and SuperNova head and tail lights that run off the main battery so there's nothing extra to charge. It runs a 1x11 SRAM drivetrain and weighs 57 lbs.
Up to 425 lbs of rider and gear. That's the most of any trike Catrike builds. Larger cross-member, heavier rims, wider seat. If a shop has told you that you're over the limit on everything they carry, this is the trike to ask about.
That's the whole reason the assist bars are on it. The seat sits at 14.25 inches, higher than most trikes, so you're not dropping all the way to the ground, and there's a bar on each side to push off. If standing back up is the part you're worried about, this is the trike to look at first.
X-seam is what matters here, not your height. Catrike lists 39 to 46 inches, and an XL boom stretches that another 5 inches. Measure it before you order rather than guessing at it. Get on a Dream Trike Session and we'll walk you through the measurement and tell you straight whether the MAX eCAT fits.
