The Rover Tandem e+ is the trike for two people who want to ride together and do not pedal the same. The Independent Pedaling System means the captain and the stoker each turn their own cranks at their own cadence, or stop pedaling entirely, without affecting the other. That makes it work for couples with different fitness, and for adaptive riders.

The steel frame carries a 500 lb combined limit. The Enviolo Heavy Duty internally geared hub keeps shifting under that load, and the Bosch Performance Line motor adds 75 Nm across four modes so two riders and their gear still get up the hill. It comes apart for transport.

For the two of you, riding at two different paces

You want to ride together, but you don't ride the same. One of you might have the legs for 20 miles while the other has good days and hard days, and one of you might not be pedaling at all anymore. The Rover Tandem e+ gives each of you your own cranks and puts a Bosch motor under both of you, so nobody has to hold back and nobody gets left at home. Two seats, 500 pounds of rider between them, one trike.

Shifting you don't think about

The Enviolo Heavy Duty hub twists through its whole range with no gear numbers, and it shifts while you're stopped at a light or already climbing under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. That's the Independent Pedaling System. The captain up front and the stoker in back each turn their own set of cranks, so you can spin at your own cadence, or stop pedaling entirely, and the other rider never feels it.
Yes. A lot of pairs ride exactly that way, whether it's a recovery week, a bad hip day, or a rider who isn't pedaling anymore. The Bosch motor and the other rider carry the work, and the Comfort Pedal Conversion Kit that comes standard supports the heel so a foot can rest on the pedal without slipping off.
The captain up front does the steering and the braking. The stoker in back pedals and looks around. If balance, eyesight, or reaction time is what's keeping somebody off a bike, that back seat is the answer.
Measure your X-seam, which is your heel to your backside with the leg out straight. The captain's seat fits 32 to 47 inches and the stoker's fits 35.5 to 42 inches. Both seats slide through 11.5 inches of adjustment and recline from 50 to 65 degrees, and the two of you together can weigh up to 500 pounds.
Depends on the two of you. The Bosch PowerPack 400Wh battery stretches a long way in Eco on flat ground and drains a lot faster in Turbo hauling two riders up a grade. Tell us your route on a Dream Trike Session and we'll give you a real number for where you actually ride.
It's 113 inches long and 87 pounds, so it isn't going in a trunk. The Hi-Ten steel frame comes apart for transport, which gets it into a van, an SUV with the seats folded down, or onto a trailer. It's a two-person lift, so you load it the same way you ride it. Together.
