The Spyder e+ sits low and moves. The seat is 9 inches off the ground, the two-piece 7000 series aluminum frame is built for stiffness and aerodynamics with enough compliance to stay comfortable, and the 700c rear wheel on a through-axle keeps speed once you have it.

The build is serious: Shimano 105 double crankset, XT derailleur, Deore hydraulic brakes, a custom oversized idler pulley and internal cable routing. The Bosch Performance Line motor adds 75 Nm through four modes, so Eco makes it an all-day trike and Turbo makes it something else entirely.

Who the Spyder e+ is for

You rode fast for years and you'd like to keep doing it, only now the hill or the headwind ends the ride before your legs do. The Spyder e+ is the low, aerodynamic end of the line, and the Bosch motor takes the climb off your knees whenever you ask it to. Be honest about the seat first: it sits 9 inches off the ground, so you lower yourself in and push yourself back up out of it. If that part gives you pause, the Rebel e+ or the Rambler e+ sits you a lot higher, and we'd point you there instead.

Two-Piece Aluminum Frame

The two-piece 7000 series aluminum frame keeps the Spyder e+ low and stiff, so what you and the motor put into the pedals turns into speed instead of flex.

Four Assist Modes

The Bosch Performance Line motor adds up to 75 Nm across four modes, so you decide how much of the hill and the headwind you feel like doing yourself.

Shimano XT rear derailleur, 11-speed cassette and oversized idler pulley on the TerraTrike Spyder e+

11-Speed Shimano Drivetrain

A Shimano 105 double crankset up front and an XT rear derailleur give you 11 gears, and the oversized idler pulley keeps that long chain running quiet.

Frequently Asked Questions

That's the first question to ask on this one. The seat sits 9 inches off the ground, so you lower yourself in and push yourself back up out of it. If your knees and hips are fine with that, the payoff is a trike that cuts wind and corners flat. If getting up out of a low chair is already a project, look at the Rebel e+ or the Rambler e+ instead. They sit you a lot higher and we'll gladly point you there.
That depends more on you than on the trike. The Bosch PowerPack holds 400 watt-hours, and how far that stretches comes down to which of the four assist modes you ride in, how much you and your gear weigh, and how many hills are on the route. Eco goes a long way. Turbo empties it faster. Bring the rides you actually do to a Dream Trike Session and we'll work out whether 400 Wh covers them.
You pedal. The Bosch Performance Line motor is pedal assist, so it reads what your legs are doing and adds up to 75 Nm on top of it. Four modes on the Smart LED Remote, from Eco for all-day riding to Turbo when the grade gets steep. Stop pedaling and the motor stops.
X-seam is the measurement that matters, and the Spyder e+ fits 41 to 47 inches. That's the distance from your back against the seat out to the bottom of your heel, and the seat gives you another 2.5 inches of adjustment on top of that. Take the measurement off our fitting instructions page, or give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
The trike is 52 pounds, and the combined load limit is 280 pounds. That number counts you plus whatever you're carrying, so it's worth checking before you fall in love with it. If you're over it, say so on the call and we'll steer you to a trike built for more.
It doesn't. Pedals are separate on the Spyder e+, which sounds strange until you realize how personal that choice is. Flat pedals, clipless, or something with heel straps if your feet need holding in place. Tell us what you ride and we'll get the right set on it before it ships.
