PERS is ICE's chainless e-assist, made with CIXI in France. There is no chain and no gear shifter. You pedal a small generator up front, and it powers a quiet motor in the rear wheel. The system picks the right resistance for your pedaling, so you never shift. No chain to clean, oil, or drop. The PERS system won a 2025 Good Design Award.

Which ICE trikes come with PERS?
ICE offers PERS on the Adventure, the Adventure HD, the Sprint X Tour, and the Sprint X Pixel. We'll help you pick the one that fits how you ride.
How a Custom Order works
1. Book a Dream Trike Session, in the shop in Sacramento or by video from anywhere.
2. We talk about your riding, your fit, and how you'll get the trike from place to place.
3. We pick the model, size, seat, and color with you, then place the order.
4. Your trike arrives, gets built and checked here, and comes home with you or ships to your door.

FAQ
What is PERS?
PERS is a chainless pedaling system from ICE, made with CIXI. Your pedaling makes electricity, and a rear hub motor turns the wheel. There is no chain or derailleur.
Do I have to shift gears?
No. PERS has no shifter. It reads your pedaling and adjusts for you.
What happens if the battery runs out?
You can still ride. CIXI says the power from your pedaling goes straight to the motor, so the trike keeps moving. It just takes more effort from you.
Can I ride with no assist?
Yes. Muscular mode gives no assist, so you do all the work yourself. There are four more levels when you want help.
How far can I go on one charge?
ICE estimates 40 to 60 miles or more. Hills, tires, rider weight, and the mode you use all change it.
Can it back up?
Yes. Pedal backward and the trike goes in reverse. Back pedaling also slows you down and puts some charge back in the battery.
Does it have theft protection?
CIXI builds in lock and unlock plus location tracking through its connected app. ICE says the app features are coming shortly after launch, so ask us for the latest.
Why go chainless?
No chain to clean or oil, no dropped chains, and no grease on your pants. It is quiet and simple to live with.

How much is shipping?
Flat rate $599 to the lower 48. It ships fully assembled, ready to ride.
