The Dumont eCAT is the Catrike I'd pick if your roads are rough and your back is cranky.

I hurt my back in '99. So bumps matter to me. The Dumont has suspension in the back and Catrike's anti dive suspension spindles up front, so the cracks in the road don't end up in your spine.

It also has the new Bosch motor. The Performance Line, Generation 5, puts out 75 Nm of torque. The old Active Line Plus was 50.

That extra pull helps you get up the hill without stopping halfway.

The 26 inch rear wheel rolls over rough pavement easier and holds its speed. The seat goes from 42 to 49 degrees, so it sits a little more laid back than the 5.5.9.

It still folds. Catrike lists it at 45.25 by 32.5 by 25 inches.

Now here's the straight talk. The Dumont costs more than the 5.5.9 eCAT. The extra goes into that suspension. If your rides are mostly smooth bike paths, the 5.5.9 may be all you need.

Who the eCAT Dumont is for

This is the trike for the rider who still wants the longer loop but doesn't want the hill or the headwind to decide how far they get. The Bosch assist meets your legs where they are right now, so you ride for the joy of it and let the motor take the edge off the climbs. If your back or your knees talked you out of riding, the recumbent seat carries your weight and the assist carries the rest. You set the pace. The trike covers the gap.

Bosch Performance Line Gen 5

BOSCH Performance Line Motor provides a maximum torque of 75 Nm with 340% assistance up to 20 mph and 105 cadence. The Generation 5 drive unit is lightweight and compact, improving overall power-to-weight performance while providing additional torque for climbing and acceleration.

Full Suspension

The rear suspension features a highly progressive travel path combined with a custom spring rate and sophisticated damping for a perfect balance of performance and comfort. The shock is actuated via a CNC machined swingarm pivoting on precision cartridge bearings to allow the suspension system to operate with seamless efficiency. Up front, the Dumont employs Catrike’s patented anti-dive front suspension spindles to take the edge off while allowing all wheels to move independently. The result is that the Dumont stays firmly planted on the ground with the active suspension.

Adjustable Fit

The mesh seat reclines from 42 to 49 degrees and the backrest and boom both adjust, so the Dumont gets dialed to your body instead of you bending to fit it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Catrike rates the 400 Wh Bosch battery at up to 70 miles max on a charge. Real range depends on the rider, the hills and how much assist you use. Ride in Eco on the flats and save Turbo for the climbs and you'll stretch it a long way.
You pedal. The Bosch Performance Line is pedal assist, so it reads how hard you're pushing and adds power on top, up to 340% assist and 75 Nm of torque. You're always part of the ride. The motor just takes the sting out of the hills.
It folds down to about 45 by 32 by 25 inches, so it drops into the back of most SUVs and hatchbacks without a rack. The 26-inch rear wheel comes off if you need it even smaller. No big trailer, no roof rack, just fold it and go.
About 43 pounds. The fold and the removable rear wheel are there so you're never wrestling the whole thing at once. Most riders lift it into the car in two easy pieces.
